In 1981, they decided that Teaneck was the right location for a glatt kosher take-out store. Ma'adan opened in November of 1982. The store has become well recognized, and in the process has grown from a 900 sq. foot gourmet store to a 4,500 sq. foot cornucopia of fine foods, wine, and baked goods, with extensive dairy and meat departments.
